This week I love
* that my niece is a whiz on the computer already. She just turned 3 but she can already open paint and draw pictures, type her whole alphabet and numbers in order and should she happen to make a mistake she figured out how to press backspace and correct it! She also can play swirls by herself and is quite fond of my font collection.
*JK Rowling. I have been re reading all the Harry Potter books in celebration of Deathly Hallows. I figure I better post this now. I have concerns I may not be so fond of her come July 22nd or 23rd.
* people that are willing to take chance & bend their own "rules" for that I am grateful.
* that I managed a week of no Dr. Pepper or Ginger Ale- yes I fell off the " no cokes/soda/whatever you want to call it wagon... AGAIN!
* www.blessthischick.com- see a few posts down and my icon above. I have spent lots of time making "little chicks" this week when I was feeling down!
* saying goodbye to year 30- I have grown and learned so much this year. In so many ways its been a great year, and in so many ways its been long and trying. But still better than 29 was. Here's to turning 31 and to receiving early birthday presents.
The coffee pot is from Heather- no better gift for someone who loves hello kitty and coffee as much as me!! The perfume was my treat to myself. ( Thanks TJ Maxx for having an a MARC JACOBS gift set in perfect condition and clearanced to less than 20 bucks!! )

In a week of sniffles, sore throats, PMS, working overtime and a multitude of other little things going wrong; this is one thing that went oh so right.
These 100 Calorie Hostess cupcakes get sole attention for my "Thursday Love" blog. And rightly so. I swear when you open the box angelic music swells and a soft yellow light radiates, for they are 100 calories of bliss! And they taste incredible. They are by far the best "100 calorie" product that i have tried. If coupons make your heart go pitter patter as they do mine, then here is a link for a dollar off! Yummy Cupcakes!
Here's what i am loving this week
- Getting to the office an hour early and enjoying a quiet cup of coffee and blog reading before the work day starts.
- Tag-Along for Breakfasts
- http://www.hungry-girl.com : great site for dieting /healthy eating tips. (Yes I realize i posted that after fessing up to having girl scout cookies for breakfast! I did not get that tip from the site.)
- Dinner and a movie date nights.
- Blue skies and a sunshiney preview of spring time.
- Waiting to wear my new flip flops!
- Wide hair scarves to conceal bad hair days!
So today I decided to wear my “lucky” necklace. It’s just a simple silver necklace with a crystal type drop. I got it back in graduate school and noticed that when I wore it unexpected good things happened… a better grade than I deserved on a paper, 75% off clinique & origins at Hudson's, favorite old movie on televsion, nailing a job interview, no kids at the after school center intentionally overflowing the toilet; you know the usual good things!
Today was the first time in a couple years that I wore the necklace because it had been missing for quite some time. It turned up caught in the stitching at the bottom of the laundry hamper of all places. All though I shouldn’t be too surprised by this as I once had a similar instance with a gold necklace turning up in a container of coffee grounds. Mind you this was when I was in high school and prior to becoming a coffee junkie. Today, it would be no surprise to find anything in the coffee canister since I open it at least twice a day. But I am getting way off track here as my adult onset ADD kicks in.
When I put the necklace on this morning, I had this gut feeling that perhaps in the two years of being stuck under smelly laundry, the luck had worn off. Seeing as its now close to 8PM and no random acts of goodness have fallen across my path, I suspect I may be correct. In fact I got word that a close friend of mine will be going back to Iraq in just a few months. That "warm fuzzy fairy" part of me that believes in magical things, wants to believe that getting this news while wearing my lucky necklace means that the luck will follow him during deployment. Thats what i am going to keep telling myself anyway. Well that and lots of prayers too. But it still makes my heart sad to know that the bumpy road of deployment lies ahead. But i promised myself and said friend that i wouldnt let this set me back or get me down too much. If anything i know how important it is to focus on the good things. So on to the love.
I have noticed several people blog “love thursdays.” Not sure what the story behind this is but i love (ha) the idea. So here are the things i am loving today.
